Our curriculum follows the EYFS and ensures that the needs of all children are met within a high quality environment both indoors and out. Our team carry out sessions observing children's learning and development to ensure we are confident with our judgements and that they are consistant and accurate. We also input data regularly to ensure that all of our children leave Leaps & Bounds ready for the next stage in their education. Our curriculum covers areas such as;

Communication, Language and Literacy
We dedicate time daily to share stories with children using puppets, toys, and props. We offer singing sessions, listening games, phonics activities, and accessible writing tools during play. Our materials connect to children's home experiences while introducing them to diverse texts and media.
Numeracy
We describe everyday items and contexts using formal language related to size, length, weight and capacity to enhance children's understanding of numbers and. We assist children in using their own ideas for problem-solving while discussing shapes and numbers in their environment.


Personal, Social and Emotional
Personal, Social and Emotional Development [PSE] is essential in our setting, focusing on building strong foundations for lifelong wellbeing. We encourage emotional development by helping children recognize manage their feelings, promote independence through good choices, and enhance social skills via and group activities. Our nurturing approach, combined with family, supports each child's emotional wellbeing, ensuring they thrive personally, emotionally and socially
Creative Play
We provide indoor and outdoor resources like paint, sand, and water for children to explore color, form, and texture. Our curated artifacts inspire creativity, while accessible tools like playdough help develop skills. Open-ended materials, including gloop and sand trays, foster imaginative play and experimentation.


Our World
We offer a variety of resources to enhance children's imaginative play indoors and outdoors, including dress-up clothes, play food, construction materials, and themed play sets. Our collection features familiar technology like cameras and phones, along with programmable toys and resources such as computers and interactive games.
Physical Play
Our physical play develops gross and fine motor skills through diverse activities, boosting strength, coordination, and confidence. Child-led activities like climbing and dancing promote active learning and this physical development also enhances concentration, emotional regulation, and social interaction, fostering resilience and a self-image.
